Shakespeare Spoilers
I should have shared this one yesterday, since it was Shakespeare's birth and death day. And I believe it was the 400 year anniversary . . . My bad . . .

My Husband's Birthday Card
From my mother. I'd never pick something this cheesy. Pun(s) intended. My husband especially likes the one, "I never sausage a great guy!"

Anne Rice
So Anne Rice lost her marbles there for a while. I read Blackwood Farm, but took a sabbatical from her work after that. And was only reading her novels sporadically at that point. I recently picked up Wolf Gift. And I will say that the writing is spot on. Just like reading one of her old novels.
But I've discovered I'm not a teenager anymore. Sadly, I've outgrown Anne Rice. Everyone has ridiculous amounts of money. People who work hard aren't necessarily made fun of, but there's a certain negativity to having a strong work ethic. Lives that center around art and collecting clutter are glorified. Pages and pages of description of this hording mantra. Did I really used to like this? And oh, it's so obvious Reuben is turning into a werewolf. Turning into a werewolf is pretty much turning into a vampire, just hairier. The reason I didn't touch Christ Out of Egypt was because I was pretty sure it was The Vampire Jesus Christ.
I decided to put it down 100 pages in . . . I'm both ashamed of myself for not finishing the book and heartbroken that one of my favorites is part of my past and won't be going forward with me into the future.

Killing Characters
Too true. I cry almost every time a character dies and if that character dies for bad reasons, I violently hate the book, movie, TV show, etc. But I also hate when an author kills a character, but they resurrect them later. It cheapens the death.

For some reason, I was sure this would say something about Three Musketeers.

Gods and Death
Not only did someone make this bumper sticker. Someone bought it like that.
But then, I have a sign on my wall that says "I laughed so hard tears run down my legs." But it was in the markdown bin . . . and I knew what was wrong when I bought it.
