Book Sales Soar as electronic reader sales decline

I found this article interesting. I'd love to name the agent who said this, but as I didn't hear him say it . . . He told a friend of mine that he didn't think e-books would last. This was about ten years ago. His reason was that publishing of garbage was too easy with e-books. Self-respecting readers won't put up with it. As I have edited manuscripts for self-published and small publishers, I have to admit that I'm shocked by how bad some writing is . . . And I am hopeful that this movement brings us back to some solid writing.

Though this article states the reason is because we like to hold books in our hands, too many of my friends have mentioned the above to me about e-books.
